THE team at KCP know full well that if you want something done you ask a busy woman … and now they have TWO heading their board with the recent appointment of Jane Stewart as Chairman, joining Chief Executive and company founder Wendy Pring to take the progressive material transfer business to the next level.
Jane, who is also Non Exec Director, Internet For Business Ltd; Women’s Enterprise Scotland Ambassador, and former Strategy Director of the William Tracey Group, joins the board this month, bringing with her an impressive track record in mentoring and encouraging entrepreneurial skills and a focus on the circular economy and the environmental potential of KCP's solution based business model.
KCP was established 16 years ago by Wendy Pring Ceng MICE and her husband Karl and has since become a well respected name in the world of waste management taking pride in providing clients with solutions to problems tailored to suit their needs and allowing them to move forward with confidence.
This approach has allowed KCP to establish a patent for one of their specially designed pieces of equipment and they are now taking another forward to further development and manufacture and a future as a leading innovator in the removal and separation of tricky waste including micro-plastics.
And it was this determination to innovate and develop that attracted Jane to the company and the relationship has developed through a mentoring process to the point where Jane was asked to join the board as chairman and to lead the forward progress of KCP.
She said: “I was attracted to the culture and values of the team at KCP where the focus is firmly on providing solutions to customers to improve productivity and efficiency whilst minimising downtime of their equipment and infrastructure.”

JANE STEWART is a CA with over 20 years’ experience in industry, private equity investment and corporate finance roles. Jane has a proven track record of delivering enhanced shareholder value, profitable growth and sustainability through business leadership, investment in innovation, identification and delivery of strategic alliances, complex M&A and private equity transactions. She has specific expertise in recycling, circular economy, cleantech and technology sectors.
Jane joined William Tracey Group (now known as Enva) as Group FD in 2005 and in 2012 became Director responsible for strategic development leading the recycling and resource management group’s innovation, technology investment, M&A and strategic alliances. Key achievements include: assisting WTG’s 100% shareholder in achieving a partial exit to bring in corporate shareholders in 2006 and delivering consistent year on year growth through to shareholder exit in 2017; delivering over 15 acquisitions, strategic alliances and divestments all funded via cash flow with no additional shareholder or external investment required which substantially fuelled the growth in value of the business by 10x culminating in the successful sale of WTG to a private equity firm in May 2017. Jane achieved a Highly Commended award as Scottish Businesswoman of the Year following the exit in 2017.
Jane is Non Executive Director of connectivity and managed services company Internet For Business Ltd. Alongside her NxD roles Jane acts at a Board advisor and is currently advising three innovative circular economy business at varying stages. Jane joined Women’s Enterprise Scotland as an Ambassador in 2017 is passionate about growing a sustainable and inclusive economy through achieving greater gender balance and diversity in business ownership, leadership and management. Formerly Investment Director at Baird Capital (mid-market private equity investors) she held managerial roles in corporate finance lead advisory at Ernst & Young and in venture capital at SDF (now Scottish Equity Partners) after qualifying as a CA with Grant Thornton.
WENDY PRING Ceng MICE, began her career with John Dunbar and Associates in Glasgow, in a small specialist team of civil engineers working the Water & Wastewater sectors. Her future in waste management was fixed with her appointment as an engineer helping a partner develop an environmental division within the merger with Crouch & Hogg and Watermans.
She principally worked on undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments and planning operational and capital budgets for projects for a number of clients and also got to "dabble" in some bridge and wastewater treatment processes.
Looking for a challenge in construction within the environmental arena she secured a position with the LAWDC of 3C waste and went on to hold a number of positions throughout the Company. These encompassed preparation of contacts, management of contractors and budgetary control of all capital expenditure work.
Her passion for waste recovery and simple sustainable solutions led her to found KCP with her husband and between them they share more than 40 years experience in civil engineering and waste management.
